Fishing is an old sport in
Paphos and is becoming popular
with time. It can be enjoyed at
all times, offering excellent
fresh water fishing
opportunities to anglers. For
fishing in dams, license is
required but for salt-water
fishing in sea, sea angling no
license is needed. There are
facilities to rent boats, rods,
nets and baits for fishing.
Cyprus has over 20 reservoirs
open to anglers and most are
stocked. These stocked
reservoirs contain over 15
species of freshwater fish,
including trout, largemouth
bass, carp, pikeperch, and
roach
Saltwater/Sea Fishing:
The sea around Cyprus is home
to well over 250 species of
fish, including snapper,
amberjack and tuna. Boats can be
rented at fishing shelters and
stations.
